Approximately there are more than three trillion trees present in the world. The good news is that it is more than seven times the earlier estimation of four hundred billion trees. However, the bad news on the contrary is that humans have cut forty-seven percent of trees since the beginning of civilization. Trees are undoubtedly a great source of nature and life. Remember the world would be a lot less meaningful without the presence of these trees. Having more trees means to be less prone to natural disasters while having a stable climatic condition.

10. India

India being one of the biggest countries in the world, has a lot of trees in its account. India is covered by almost 802,088 sq. km of different types of trees. These trees are known to provide shelter to wildlife and are also a great source of natural medicines. 

9. Indonesia

Though small in size, Indonesia holds almost 884,950 sq. km of forests in the country. This is almost forty-six percent of the total land area. Indonesia is very rich in rains helping the trees grow well while providing shelter to wildlife.

8. Argentina

The foresty part is located in the southernmost part of the country. The number of trees coverage is approximately around 9,45,336 sq. km which stands for almost thirty-two percent of the country’s total land area. The forests of Argentina is the main shelter for wildlife as well as a key attraction for tourists.

7. Democratic Republic Of Congo

The DRC’s forest coverage is approximately around 1,172,704 sq. Kms and it is the only country in the region with the most trees. The forest coverage might be smaller in numbers but it is almost equivalent to fifty-two percent of the countries total land area.

6. Australia

With approximately 1,470,832 sq. km of forest land, Australia has about nineteen percent of trees coverage in the country. This is mainly because most parts of the Australian continent comprised of fertile or dry land where freshwater is inadequate.

5. China

Having both large land and population, the Chinese territory has almost 2,083,210 sq. km of forest cover. However, the forests of China are getting destroyed every day especially due to mining and other modernization techniques of the country.

4. United States Of America

USA ranks fourth in the list among countries with most tree area. USA is covered by almost 3,100,950 sq. km of forests which accounts for thirty percent of the total land area of the country.

3. Brazil

It is known to us that Amazon is the world's biggest tropical rainforest and this is the main reason why Brazil is considered in this list. Brazil has a total forest coverage of almost 4,776,980 sq. km which stands for almost fifty-six percent of the countries overall land area.

2. Canada

The overall size of the Canadian forest region is almost equal to 4,916,438 sq. km and it covers almost thirty percent of the country’s total land area.

1. Russia

Russia isn’t only the biggest country by volume but it also has the largest number of trees. The overall size of the forest region in Russia is approximately 8,249,300 sq. km which is almost equal to forty-five percent of the country’s total land area.
